1-on-1 Sessions
Service Description
Choose the wellness modality/therapy that you are most interested in and the provider that best meets your needs. ● Somatic Therapy, Mindful Movement and body-oriented work are supported as helpful adjuncts, especially when delivered in a slow, choice-rich, and regulation-focused manner. It improves outcomes, especially when paired with traditional medicine, creating an integrative approach. ● Mindful Movement can help with general stress, anxiety symptoms, sleep, and overall mental/emotional well-being ● In trauma populations, recent meta-analyses found small-to-medium improvements in overall PTSD symptoms, with some benefit for intrusion- and arousal-related symptoms. ● Trauma-sensitive yoga studies suggest potential improvements in anxiety, depression, PTSD symptoms, and interoceptive awareness over time. Mindfulness and self-compassion-based approaches, which can be part of yoga therapy, are promising adjunctive supports for grief, particularly around acceptance, decentering, and self-compassion ● Yoga programs have evidence supporting the improvement of blood pressure in people with elevated BP (based on systematic review/meta-analysis of RCTs). Lower blood pressure and reduced stress reactivity can, in turn, reduce strain on the cardiovascular system.
